Project:
ENERGY-EFFICIENCY RETROFIT
ENERGY RETROFIT (LARS & SHDF) | HOUSING ASSOCIATIONS, ENERGY COMPANIES & LOCAL COUNCILS, SUFFOLK, 2025
Tech Scaffolding was contracted to support a large-scale energy-efficiency retrofit project for social housing and private residencies in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, involving seven blocks of flats. The works included External Wall Insulation (EWI), solar panel installation, and roof adaptations, delivered in line with a moving schedule coordinated across multiple trades.
As a CHAS-accredited contractor, we upheld stringent site safety standards, working closely with roofing teams, EWI specialists, solar installers, and site safety advisors. Our measures as standard include edge protection, clear signage, ladder guards and ladder locks, debris netting, toe boards, and brick guards to ensure safe working platforms. HAKI staircases were used for secure multi-storey access, and our tagged inspection system with weekly scaffold inspections was carried out by our team. Particular care was taken to minimise disruption to residents while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders throughout.

Project:
FLANNELS, CHANTRY PLACE
SHOP FIT | NORWICH, 2024
Tech Scaffolding was commissioned to assist with the shop fit of Flannels' new luxury store in Chantry Place, Norwich. The project was completed within a strict and often changing schedule and included various internal scaffolding for multiple trades: a temporary staircase during the replacement of the existing one, multiple lift scaffolds for installing full-height mirrors in the main stairwell, a beam structure over the escalator void, and an access tower for pipework removal in a dry riser. The project required us to conduct work outside shopping centre hours to minimise disruption and ensure public health and safety.

Project:
NORWICH CATHEDRAL
MAINTENANCE | NORWICH SCHOOL, CATHEDRAL & CLOSE, 2021-24
Tech Scaffolding has frequently been enlisted to provide access for maintenance and repair works at Norwich Cathedral, Norwich School and the adjacent Cathedral Close. Given the city-centre location, high public footfall and school schedule, maintenance is typically conducted during holidays and half-term breaks to ensure the safety of pupils, tourists and the public. Our projects at these sites have included a variety of specialised scaffolds. Notable examples include an internal scaffold for floodlight maintenance in the main cathedral, a 10-lift access tower with a hoist for chimney flue replacements, and an extensive 7-lift tied scaffold with buttress for roof work. Each scaffold is carefully designed and erected to accommodate the unique demands of the tasks at hand while preserving the integrity of these heritage buildings, underpinning our commitment to safety, precision and respect for areas of historic importance.

EXTERNAL WALL INSULATION
VARIOUS COUNCILS | SUFFOLK & CAMBRIDGESHIRE, 2019-24
Tech Scaffolding is contracted by an External Wall Insulation (EWI) company to assist with ongoing council projects across Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire. These initiatives, funded by the government, aim to enhance energy efficiency and safety for both council housing and privately owned homes. Working on multiple properties and entire streets at a time, communication is key to remain on schedule and be readily available for trade-specific adaptations. Each project is conducted in strict accordance with health and safety guidelines, in collaboration with contractors, councils and energy providers.
